Between art and history
Osimo was established between 6-7 B.C. by the same Greek colonists that laid the foundation for the emergence of Ancona. Beneath Osimo’s old town center, a labyrinth of caves and tunnels exist filled with esoteric bas-reliefs. Moreover, the Diocesan Museum and the Church of San Filippo are invaluable places where visitors can discover the rich history and traditions of Le Marche as well. Osimo benefits from nice weather almost all year round, with mild winters and summers that never get too muggy thanks to its close proximity to the sea. The picturesque coastlines and majestic mountains will make it an unforgettable break from your daily routines! Osimo’s breathtaking panoramic view sweeps through the Sibillini Mountains to the rolling green hills, and to the blue sea of Riviera del Conero. Apart from the natural resources, Le Marche Region is also filled with historic theaters, over 200 museums, and many beautiful and ancient sanctuaries, churches and cathedrals. Osimo offers itself as the ideal weekend or holiday getaway, with the perfect blend of breathtaking, historical landmarks and pleasant atmospheres. It’s no wonder some of our most brilliant minds of our time, such as Giacomo Leopardi from Recanati, Raffaello Sanzio from Urbino and Giochino Rossini from Pesaro were all born in Le Marche.
